Marilyn Falb, Elgin, Iowa, September 23, 2026

Marilyn Kay (Anderson) Falb, 79, of Elgin, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, September 23, 2026 at Great River Care Center in McGregor, Iowa. Marilyn was born December 23, 1946, to Leslie and Jeanette (Everman) Anderson. She was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Castalia, Iowa, and graduated from Valley High School, Elgin, in 1965.

Marilyn grew up on her family’s Brown Swiss dairy farm in the Clermont area. A farm girl at heart, she much preferred being outdoors helping with chores to being inside cleaning the house.

On March 25, 1967, Marilyn was united in marriage to Roger Falb at Zion Lutheran Church in Castalia. Following their marriage, they made their home in California while Roger was stationed at George Air Force Base. After four years in California, they returned to Iowa and settled in Elgin, where they raised their three children, Shannon, Wendy and Shane, and built a life together filled with family and many cherished memories.

Marilyn was a devoted wife and mother and spent many years as a stay-at-home mom while her children were growing up. She later worked at Prairie View Residential Care Facility as a laundry supervisor before retiring.

Marilyn enjoyed gardening, canning, crocheting, sewing, shopping, cooking and baking, and she especially loved decorating cakes and cookies. She looked forward to spending her winters in Arizona and also enjoyed going to casinos and four-wheeling. Marilyn had a love for travel and was fortunate to visit many memorable places, including New York, New Orleans, South Carolina, Oregon, Australia and Las Vegas. She especially enjoyed cruising, including many memorable Carnival cruises along the Mexican Riviera.

Above all, Marilyn’s greatest happiness came from her family. She cherished every moment spent with her children and grandchildren, who were truly her pride and joy. The time they shared, the laughter they enjoyed and the many memories they created together held a very special place in her heart.

Marilyn is survived by her husband, Roger of Elgin; her three children, Shannon (Kristie) Falb of Arizona, Wendy (Joe Baldridge) Falb of McGregor, and Shane (Melissa) Falb of New Sharon; four grandchildren, Riley (Casey Fry) Wille of Monona, Tyler Wille of Guttenberg, and Addisen and Breckin Falb of New Sharon; her sister, Janice Torson of Marion; two step-grandsons, Christopher (Blossom LaBrake) Carmitchel of Arizona and Carver Carmithcel of Illinois; two step-great-grandsons, Caden and Liam of Arizona; along with many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, Leslie and Jeanette Anderson; her parents-in-law, Robert and Norma Falb; two brothers, Lyle and Stan Anderson; her grandson, Cole Wille; and brothers-in-law, Doug Falb and Roger Torson.
