Ronald “Ronnie” William Ehler, 87 of Ossian, Iowa passed away Friday, September 18, 2026 at Copper Creek Senior Living in West Union, Iowa. He was born on June 1, 1939 to Felix and Bertha (Wenthold) Ehler in Winneshiek County. Ronnie graduated from DeSales Catholic School in 1957 in Ossian, Iowa
Ronnie was united in marriage with Lorraine Riha on April 29, 1972 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. He farmed for many years and worked for many with his Allis Chalmers.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine; parents, Felix and Bertha Ehler; sisters and brothers-in-law, Jeannette and LeRoy Ihde, Marlene and Irenus Baumler, Laverna Nowak, Jacob “Jake” Nowak and Di Ann and Gary Svenson; niece, Joyce Ihde; and nephew, James Ihde.
Ronnie is survived by his nephews and nieces, Loren (Rhonda) Ihde, Mike (Amy) Ihde, Lynnette Ihde (Larry Trappe, Sharon Baumler, Allan Baumler, Julie (Steve) Stenzel, Deb (Roy) Gaddis, Terry Nowak, Marie (Kevin) Tupy, Dawn-Svenson (Josh) Holland, Kenny (Jan) Baumler and Darin (Katie) Svenson.
The family would like to thank the following: Emplify Home Health and Hospice Staff and Volunteers for their wonderful care over the years for “Uncle Ronnie” and Copper Creek Senior Living for their care and allowing him to remain in his “last home” until the end.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 am with a Visitation from 9:30 am to 11:00 am on Thursday, September 24, 2026 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Ossian, Iowa.
Inurnment will follow in St. Francis de Sales Catholic Cemetery. Ossian, Iowa.
