Anthony Pignanello, formerly of Detroit, Michigan, November 20, 2020

Anthony “Tony” Joseph Pignanello, 90, formerly of Detroit, Michigan died Friday, November 20, 2020 at Crossing Rivers Health System in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. He was born October 7, 1930 to Thomas and Theresa (Iaconis) Pignanello in Detroit, Michigan.  Tony played basketball and earned more letters than anyone else before graduating high school. He was employed by Michigan Consolidated Gas Company.

Tony married his high school sweetheart, Anna Mae Wagner in 1950 at St. Lawrence’s Church. His family and friends were everything to him. Tony enjoyed playing cards, gardening, bowling and golf.

Surviving Tony are his children, Maureen Sass, Thomas (Betty) Pignanello, William (Elli) Pignanello, Arlene (Lee) Fernberg and Karen Parker; grandchildren, Mark Sass, Marisa Sass, Kathy (Greg) Meyer, Robert Pignanello, Emily (Bruce) Fore, William Pignanello, Jacob (Kelly) Pignanello, Holli (Dave) Beach, Antoinette (Ted) Doll, Theresa (Adolfo) Del Rio, Mary (Travis) Hutchison, Daniel (Amber) Fernberg, Anna Fernberg, John Paul Fernberg, Samuel Fernberg, Thomas (Lindsey) Parker, Jennifer (William) Hogan and Matthew (Chelsea) Parker; great-grandchildren, Cody, Cameron, Connor, Dominic, Donavin, Reece, Jocelyn, Madyson, Hayden, Brycen, Katie, James, Logan, Nichole, Tiffany, Boston, Brooklyn, Branson, Baylee, Bonnie, Jaxon, Martha, Silas, Lucas, Joseph, Ryleigh, Brady, Carolyn, Maddox, Miles and Briella; and his brother, William.

Tony was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Theresa Pignanello; wife, Anna Mae; and a sister, Barbara.

No Services are planned at this time.

Thornburg-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin is assisting the family with arrangements.
