Laura Nozal age 78, of McGregor, IA and a former 30-year resident of Lakeville, MN, passed away on Saturday, June 3, 2023, at Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina, MN. Laura was born in Chicago on April 4th, 1945, and was the daughter of the late John & June (Brown) Hoffman.
On June 3rd, 1967, Laura was united in marriage to Richard Roy Nozal. They raised a family in Lakeville, MN upon retirement they moved to McGregor, IA, the hometown of Laura’s grandparents. She spent her time with the Ladies Auxiliary and the McGregor United Methodist Women group, she also enjoyed reading, bird watching, cooking for her family, and playing cards. She was also a huge fan of the Hallmark channel. Laura’s greatest Joy was spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Surviving Laura are her son, David (Gail) Nozal of Rosemount, MN and daughter Kris Nozal of Burnsville, MN: Grandchildren Kate and Sam Nozal. She is also survived by her sister Sue Rabiola, brother John Hoffman, and sister Barb (Jeff) Heidelmeier and many nieces and nephews.
Laura was preceded in death by her parents, John and June Hoffman: husband, Richard Nozal on 2/21/2003: and her sister Deanna (Jean) Haussmann.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Laura to the McGregor Library, or McGregor Fire Department-Hook And Ladder Company
A visitation will be held Friday, July 14, 2023 from 5:00PM to 7:00PM at Thornburg-Grau funeral home, 118 N. Wacouta Ave, Prairie du Chien, WI.
A funeral service will be held 11:00AM Saturday, July 15, 2023 at Thornburg-Grau funeral home in Prairie du Chien where a visitation will be held one hour prior to service.
A luncheon will be held at Huckleberry’s Restaurant, 1916 S Marquette Rd, Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, after the funeral service.
Burial will take place at 3:30PM on Saturday, July 15, 2023 at Moody Cemetery in McGregor, IA.
