Long time Elkader Central teacher, Florine D. Wessel, passed away peacefully in her sleep Friday, December 9th at the Good Samaritan Home in West Union. Shortly after retiring, she moved to West Union, eventually entering into the nursing home there, where she had been a resident for 9 ½ years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd, her daughter Trudy, (Fred) Kann, and her grandson Johnathan Schroeder and his father Ronnie Schroeder. She is survived by daughters Peggy Schroeder, Roxi (Kevin) Vorwald, Shelly (Don) Sieck, 14 grandchildren, and several great and great-greatgrandchildren.
There will be a graveside service for Florine on December 23 at 10:00 A>M. at Elkader’s East Side Cemetery. Anyone is welcome to attend.
