Karolyn Elizabeth Priebe, 83 of Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin passed away Saturday, March 30, 2024 at her home surrounded by her family. Karolyn, the daughter of Claire and Nina Marie (Blood) Groom was born March 26, 1941 in Mason City, Iowa. She graduated from Davenport High School with the class of 1983.
On March 28th, 1959, Karolyn was united in marriage with Vincent Francis Priebe II. Together they had five children. Throughout her life, Karolyn worked as a housekeeper for several area Davenport hotels, and was proud to be a loving, caring wife and mother to her husband and kids. She enjoyed shopping and clipping coupons, bowling with her bowling league and family, crocheting, reading her westerns while wearing her cowboy boots, doing word search puzzles, more shopping, camping and fishing with her family, and spending time with her church family at First Congregational Church in McGregor, Iowa.
Surviving Karolyn are her children, Vincent L. (Jill) Priebe of Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, Robert (Sheila) Priebe of German Valley, Illinois, Theresa Morris of Coats, North Carolina, Ruby White of Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin and Brian (Crystal) Priebe of Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin; twelve grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; her siblings, Marty Murray, Bill Murray, Harold Murray, Sylvia Pigman, Stephanie Jones and Susan Thompson, many nieces and nephews, and other extended family.
Karolyn was preceded in death by her husband, Vincent Francis Priebe II on September 17, 2002; her parents, Claire and Nina Groom; biological mother, Esther Murray; and two siblings, Andy Murray and Trudy Murray; sons-in-law, Don White and Steven Morris.
A Visitation will be held from 9:00 am to 11:00 am on Friday, April 5, 2024 at Thornburg-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, with services at 11:00 am with Rev. William Gentry as the officiant. Luncheon to follow
A private family inurnment will be held at a later date.
