Victor Lynn Patterson, 69 of Clermont, Iowa passed away Monday, August 18, 2025 at his home. He was born May 6, 1956 to Wilson and Luella (Folkerts) Patterson in West Union, Iowa. Victor attended Valley Community Schools, were he participated in football, basketball, and track (shot put) and graduated with the class of 1975. After graduating, Victor worked on a crew, building pole sheds for Menards in Rochester, Minnesota. He later returned to the family farm, where her partnered with his brother, Duane, to form Patterson Brothers Farms, LC.
On October 3, 1981, Victor was united in marriage with Patricia “Trish” Harrison in Fredericksburg, Iowa. Together they shared nearly 44 years of marriage. They moved to Clermont in August of 2005. They joined the West Clermont Lutheran Church. In September of 2009, Victor was diagnosed with lung disease. He continued farming in a limited capacity until the end of 2012.
Victor loved the outdoors and spent countless weekends camping. Even when his health no longer allowed him to camp, he remained active by tending to his garden. Though his missed the days of farming, he continued to embrace life’s simple pleasures- watching movies, working on puzzles and driving his side by side.
Surviving Victor are his wife, Patricia Patterson of Clermont, IA; his siblings, Duane (Sue) Patterson of Elgin, IA , Marian (Mike) Verdon of Lansing, IA, brother-in-law, Joe Lider of California, brother- in-laws, Danny (Jo) Harrison, Fredericksburg, IA, Dale (Joan) Harrison, Decorah, IA, and a sister- in-law, Bonnie Harrison, Cedar Rapids, IA and several nieces and nephews, several grand-nieces and grand- nephews, and 2 great grand nephews. Preceding Victor in death were his parents, Wilson and Luella Patterson, his sister, Nita Lider, a brother in-law, Eddie Harrison, parents-in- law, Raymond and Dorothy Harrison and a niece, Celena Harrison.
Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm with a Visitation from 1:00 to 2:00 on Monday, August 25, 2025 at Schutte-Grau Funeral Home in Clermont, Iowa with Pastor Mike Erickson as the Officiant.
Burial will follow at Gods Acres in Clermont, Iowa.
