Edwin Lewis Weymiller, 85, passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2017 doing what he was most passionate about, working the land. He was born June 26, 1931 to Robert and Helen (Krouth) Weymiller He grew up in rural New Albin on his family farm and attended rural Morgan School.
Edwin served in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany. On October 5, 1957, he married Sharon Ann Witt at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in La Crosse. They resided on their farm south of New Albin for twenty-five years and then moved to New Albin where he resided until his death. His family and farming were the loves of his life. He also loved to spend time fishing on the Mississippi River, gardening, and was a master of creating self-made projects.
He is survived by two sons, Douglas (Bonnie) Weymiller and Dennis (Robert) Weymiller; two daughters, Sally (Roger) Emerson and Sue (Jerrold Anderson) Weymiller; nine grandchildren, Leah, Avery, Amanda, Leisha, Heather, Ashley, Corey, Noah, and Jasmine; sixteen great-grandchildren, Keanna, Collin, Carson, Kendall, Adalyn, Averi, Raeleigh, Raegan, Ava, Abby, Allie, Jaymes, Marian, Brendan, Dustan, and Cassidy.
He was preceded in death by his wife Sharon; his parents, and one brother Robert.
Visitation will be Friday, April 14, 2017 from 4-8 pm at the New Albin Community Center, New Albin, Iowa and one hour before services at the church on Saturday.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at St. Peter’s Community Christian Church, New Albin with Rev. William Reese as the Officiant.
Interment will be at St. Peter’s Cemetery, New Albin, Iowa with Military Honors.
