Wayne D. Genz 95, of Monona, Iowa died Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at Thornton Manor in Lansing, Iowa. Wayne Dale was born March 19, 1923 to Herbert and Carrie (Schlitter) Genz in Madison, Wisconsin. He attended country school and also Harpers Ferry High School.
Wayne was united in marriage with Eva Sickels in 1942. One son was born to this union. He farmed in his younger years and then went to work as a Mechanic for Case Implement in Bettendorf, Iowa. Wayne enjoyed fishing and hunting turkeys and ducks.
Wayne is survived by his four grandchildren, Missy Eberline, Randy Genz, Samantha and Charlie Gentz; one sister, Bernice Yeoman of Harpers Ferry, Iowa; and one brother, Roland Genz of Harpers Ferry, Iowa.
Wayne was preceded in death by his wife, Eva in 1992; son, Roger Genz; and his parents, Herbert and Carrie Genz.
Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at Leonard-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Monona, Iowa. There will be a two hour visitation from 12-2 pm before services at the funeral home on Tuesday.
Burial will follow at Sixteen Cemetery, rural Monona, Iowa.
