L’Dean Fred Tielbar, 82, of Farmersburg, Iowa died Friday, October 26, 2018 at his home in Farmersburg, Iowa. L’Dean was born March 2, 1936 to Orval and Selma (Leupker) Tielbar on the Leupker Farm in Farmersburg, Iowa. He attended Hawkeye Country School and Farmersburg High School and graduated from MFL High School. L’Dean served in the United States Army from 1955 to 1957.
L’Dean was united in marriage with Rose Mary Amundson on October 25, 1957 at St. John Lutheran Church in Farmersburg, Iowa. Throughout the years, L’Dean drove semi, hauling milk and grain. He enjoyed playing cards and traveling, hunting and trap shooting. He played softball with the “Farmersburg Old-Timers”. He was a WWII buff, and liked building and collecting model planes. L’Dean was a lifelong member of the Farmersburg Fire Department, Monona Legion, NRA and St. John Lutheran Church.
L’Dean is survived by his wife, Rose Mary of Farmersburg, Iowa; his children, Lori (Denton) Wunder of Milford, Iowa, Lisa (Gary) Geick of Guttenberg, Iowa, Lyndean (MaryBeth) Tielbar of Farmersburg, Iowa, Layne (Rebbecca) Tielbar of Schuyler, Nebraska and Lindelle (Loren) Scherf of Farmersburg, Iowa; grandchildren, Jamie, Christopher, Johnathan, Emily, Morgan, Erin, Erica, Brennan, Kailyn, Tessa, Dana, Martyn, Jay, Wyatt and Bryce; great-grandchildren, Chase, Matthew, Gaige, Lene’e , Arthur, Taylor, Dallas, Ruby, Brilee, Lyla, Dean, Gracilyn and one on the way; two sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.
L’Dean was preceded in death by his daughter, Lene’e (Tielbar) Peterson; parents, Orval and Selma Tielbar; and his grandson, Devin Tielbar.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 am to 11:00 am on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at St. John Lutheran Church in Farmersburg, Iowa.
Funeral Service with Military Rites will be at 11:30 am on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at St. John Lutheran Church in Farmersburg, Iowa with Rev. Harold McMillin as the officiant.
Burial will be held at a later date.
