Steven Ward Musselman, 71, of Elgin, Iowa died Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital, Madison, Wisconsin. Steven was born on December 12, 1946 to Hubert Edwin and Esther Irene (Ward) Musselman in Beloit, Wisconsin. He graduated high school from Beloit, Wisconsin in 1965 and attended Blackhawk Technical College and U.W. La Crosse. Steven was a Vietnam Veteran and served in the United States Army for three years.
Steven was united in marriage with Kathleen Otto on December 31, 1966 at the Methodist Church in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin. Two sons were born to this union. Steven was an Aircraft Mechanic Instructor at Amarillo Technical College in Amarillo, Texas. He did maintenance on aircraft and helicopters, and also on televisions. Steven was a member of the First Baptist Church in Elgin, Iowa. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, tinkering, going for walks and spending time with his grandchildren. He cared for other people and did missionary trips to Honduras and Jamaica. Steven helped troubled teens at camp in Canada, worked at local food banks and volunteered reading to kids at schools.
Steven is survived by his wife, Kathleen Musselman of Elgin, Iowa; his two sons, Jonathan Musselman of Platteville, Wisconsin and Donald (Kristen) Musselman of Preston, Minnesota; grandchildren, Dakota Musselman, Kayden Wangen, Konnor Wangen and Kennidy Wangen; brother, Lytton (Elizabeth) Musselman of Norfolk, Virginia; and two brothers-in-law, Chuck (Fay) Otto of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin and Robert (Sherry) Otto of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Steven was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Esther Musselman; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert and Altah Otto.
Celebration of Life Services will be at 11:00 am on Friday, November 16, 2018 at First Baptist Church, 22526 Canoe Road, Elgin, Iowa with a visitation before services from 10-11 am at the church on Friday.
Burial with Military Rites will be at 9:30 on Friday November 16, 2018 am at Elgin Cemetery, Elgin, Iowa.
