Clay Clifton Yearous, 57, Monona, Iowa, December 31, 2018

Clay Clifton Yearous, 57, of Monona, Iowa died Monday, December 31, 2018 at his home in Monona, Iowa after a lengthy battle with cancer.  Clay was born February 21, 1961 to Clifton and Arlene (Timmerman) Yearous in Waukon, Iowa. He attended Waukon High School.

Clay was united in marriage with Wendy Gress on September 7, 2013. He was a long -haul semi driver, hauling cattle for Mihm Bros. in Ft. Atkinson, Iowa. Clay enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, riding his Harley and working in his shop. He was known to carry on a conversation and do anything but sit still. Clay was a Minnesota Vikings and Minnesota Twins fan.  He was a part of the pit crew for his son’s Hornet car.

Clay is survived by his wife, Wendy of Monona, Iowa; his children, Clint (Sonya) Ludeking of Waukon, Iowa, Elizabeth (Jon) Halverson of Monona, Iowa, RaeAnna Gebhardt of Oelwein, Iowa, Tyler Gress of Monona, Iowa and Melita (fiance’ Tyler Andreae) Gress of Garnavillo, Iowa; twelve grandchildren; his mother, Arlene Yearous of Waukon, Iowa; one sister, Sarah Yearous of Waukon, Iowa; one sister-in-law, Deb Yearous of Waukon, Iowa; and his buddies, Steve Decker and Mike Harbaugh.

Clay was preceded in death by his father, Clifton Yearous; brother, Wyatt Yearous; and one grandson, Abel Ludeking.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Friday, January 4, 2019 at Leonard-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Monona, Iowa. There will also be a one hour visitation before services at the church on Saturday.

Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Monona, Iowa with Rev. Erika Kielstrup as the officiant.

Burial will follow the luncheon at Oakland Cemetery, Waukon, Iowa.
