Leilani Mala Morgan, 69 of Santa Clara, Utah passed away Sunday, March 29, 2026 at the Elkader Care Center in Elkader, Iowa. She was born in Guam to Verne and Margaret (Nading) Debes. Leilani was confirmed at Hope Lutheran Church in Littleport, Iowa. She graduated from the Edgewood-Colesberg School and went on to graduate from the University of Northern Iowa with a Bachelor’s Degree.
On December 31, 1981, Leilani was united in marriage with Billy Morgan in Nashville, Tennessee. Together they travelled all over the world. Leilani was a pilot like her husband and they loved to fly. She worked in customer service at the flight school in Waterloo. Leilani also rode horses and participated in horse jumping events.
Leilani leaves behind two nieces, Libby Debes of Dubuque, Iowa and Heidi Aulwes of Elkader, Iowa; along with special neighbors and friends, Sheri Wagner and Sherrie Slater of Santa Clara, Utah and Darlene Bahls of Elkader, Iowa.
Leilani was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Morgan; parents, Verne Debes and Margaret Harbaugh; and her siblings, Lorna Day, Jeff Debes and Greg Debes.
A private graveside will be held.
