Gerald was honorably discharged and returned to Winthrop, Iowa where he tended farmland and raised livestock before purchasing farmland in Postville, Iowa and making his home. Gerald loved the land and worked hard to tend his crops and his animals for many years.
Gerald was highly active in Saint Bridget Catholic Church in Postville, Iowa, taking his faith and service seriously. He enjoyed attending auctions, visiting his neighbors and was always there to lend a helping hand to a neighbor in need.
Gerald was a caring, soft-spoken man. He will be missed by his family and community but will live on in our memories and prayers.
Gerald is survived by six siblings. Dorrence Kremer of Oran, Darlene Stottman of Des Moines, Laura Ann Fry (Ken) of Cedar Rapids, Patricia Holst (Gary) of Elkader, Laurence Kremer (Karen) of Lamont, and Charlene Jenks (Charles) of Aurora. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers: Merlin Kremer, Lorus Kremer and Dennis Kremer and two sisters: Verna Mae Koch and Mary Schweitzer.
Thank you to Maple Crest and Emplify Health Hospice for their dedicated and kind care during his final years.
