John Francis Conway, Harpers Ferry, Iowa, July 27, 2019

John Francis Conway, 59, of Harpers Ferry, Iowa died Saturday, July 27, 2019.  John Francis was born on October 4, 1959 to Hugh and Alice (Kernan) Conway in Waukon, Iowa. He graduated from Kee High School in 1978. John worked as a Carpenter and also farmed the family farm. He loved farming and being outside cutting wood.  John was a kind hearted, soft spoken, and extremely dependable man. He loved his boys with all his heart and never turned down the opportunity to help others in his community. His work ethic stands out to those who’ve known him. Through his faith and love of family, he was driven everyday to put in an honest days work.

John is survived by his sons, Cory Conway of Des Moines, Iowa, Justin Conway of Harpers Ferry, Iowa and Brad (Heather) Conway of Dubuque, Iowa; one grandson, Aidan Conway of Dubuque, Iowa; his siblings, Mary (John) O’Neill of Lansing, Iowa, Daniel Conway of Lansing, Iowa, Ellen (Robert) Zwirlein of Monona, Iowa, Hugh (Lana) Conway of Mc Allen, Texas, Michael (Jeanne) Conway of Waukon, Iowa, Rosalie (Donald) Ripperger of Lacona, Iowa and Raymond (Diane) Conway of Polk City, Iowa; sister-in-law, Sally Conway of Cedar Falls; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Alice Conway; brothers, James (Sonja) Conway, Joseph (Josie) Conway, Leo (Penny) Conway and Patrick Conway; and three nephews.

Visitation will be held from 2-7 pm with a 7:00 pm Scripture Service on Sunday, August 4, 2019 at Thornburg-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Lansing, Iowa. There will also be a one hour visitation before Mass at the church on Monday.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 am on Monday, August 5, 2019 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Wexford, Iowa with Rev. John Moser as the Celebrant.

Burial will follow at Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery, Wexford, Iowa.
