Aileen Margaret Delaney, Wexford, Iowa, January 27, 2020

Aileen Margaret Delaney, 77, of Wexford, Iowa died Monday, January 27, 2020 at her home in Wexford, Iowa.  Aileen Margaret was born June 24, 1942 to Emmett and Lillian (Doubek) Schwartzhoff in rural Dorchester, Iowa. She graduated from Waukon High School.

Aileen was united in marriage with Patrick Delaney on October 28, 1961 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Dorchester, Iowa. Together they owned and operated Pat and Annie Convenient Store in Harpers Ferry, Iowa. Aileen was a very hard worker. She loved spending time with all of her family, especially her grandchildren. Annie enjoyed playing cards and watching the wildlife, she enjoyed Polka dancing in her younger years.

Aileen is survived by her husband, Patrick Delaney of Lansing, Iowa; children,  Richard (Ruth) Delaney of Katy, Texas and Patricia (Bruce) Berg of New Richland, Minnesota; six grandchildren, Hayley (Brandon) Coleman, Ben Neiland, Timothy (Kirsten) Anderson-Delaney, Jacki Delaney, Brittani (Dan) Gaul and Patrick Teff; eight-great-grandchildren, Cooper, Axel, Leo, Nolan, Aubrey, Grayson, Benjamin and Henry; and seven siblings, Donald Schwartzhoff. Mary Ward, Carol Hancock, Judy Byrnes, Mavis Wishcop, Karen Gross and Kathleen Schwartzhoff.

Aileen was preceded in death by her parents, Emmett and Lillian Schwartzhoff; a son, Michael Delaney; and four siblings, Theresa McCormick, Dorie Bulman, Ramona Ward and James Schwartzhoff.

Visitation will be held from 4-7 pm with a 7:00 pm Scripture Service on Friday, January 31, 2020 at Thornburg-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Lansing, Iowa. There will also be a one hour visitation before Mass at the church on Saturday.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Wexford, Iowa.

Burial will follow at Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery, Wexford, Iowa.
