Marvin Vernon Kuehl, 77, of McGregor, Iowa. passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 2, 2020 at Gunderson Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse, Wisconsin. Marvin was born March 28, 1943 to Edward & Phyllis (Wikan) Kuehl on the family farm, Highland Township, Clayton County, rural Elkader Iowa. He was baptized and confirmed at Highland Lutheran Church rural Elkader. Marvin attended Boland County School and graduated from Central Community High School in 1961. After High School Marvin served in the United States Marines. He worked for Steve Nelson Hardwoods and held various jobs in the area. He enjoyed having coffee with his friends at the local cafe, hunting, and fishing on the Mississippi River.
Marvin is survived by two brothers, Edward Kuehl of Embarrass, Minnesota and Roger (Betty) Kuehl of Garnavillo, Iowa; three sisters, Barbara Amundson of Livingston, Wisconsin, Marjorie Kuehl of Rochelle, Illinois and Edythe Kuehl of Tom Bean, Texas; sister-in -law, Joyce Kuehl of Clermont, Iowa; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Marvin was preceded in death by his parents; brother, George; sisters, Maxine Branson and Mary Tabery; sister-in-law, Audrey Kuehl; and brothers-in-law; Lloyd Amundson and Al Tabery.

Due to state and federal guidance on gatherings due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the family will not be having a public memorial at this time.
There will be a private celebration of Marvin’s life at a later date.
