Betty Larson Seitz, 87, of West Union, Iowa passed away on Monday, May 11, 2020 at Good Samaritan Society in West Union, Iowa. Betty Elaine Larson was born in Elgin, Iowa on November 19, 1932 to Gladys and Ernest Larson. She received her education and graduated from the Elgin Public School. Betty was united in marriage with Earl Seitz on March 18, 1951 and lived in Elgin most of her life, moving to West Union after her husband died.
Betty was a member of Faith and Family Fellowship Church and served in many ways, including teaching Sunday School for many years in West Union as well as Elgin Lutheran, Missions Chair, and church janitor. Her faith was very important to her and she shared it with many throughout her life. Betty enjoyed reading, taking pictures, listening to Christian tapes and records, playing board games with her sisters, friends, and family, puzzles, and writing poems. She loved having grandchildren stay and they have many wonderful memories of Grandma.
Survivors include four of her children; Karen (Kevin) Schmitt of Solon, Iowa, Jim (Celeste) of Albert Lea, Minnesota, Ron (special friend Kathy) of West Union, Iowa and Diane (Ed) Boltz of Sumner, Iowa; fifteen grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren.
Betty was preceded in death by her son, Jack; husband, Earl; and many other family members that have gone on before her.
Due to state and federal guidance on gatherings due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the family will not be having a public memorial at this time.
A Private Family Service will be held.
