Kenneth J. Miller, Fayette, Iowa, September 17, 2020

Kenneth J. Miller, 94, of Fayette, Iowa died Thursday, September 17, 2020 at Maple Crest Manor in Fayette, Iowa. Kenneth was born August 28, 1926 to Walter and Clara (Winkleman) Miller in Buffalo Center, Iowa.  He graduated from Buffalo Center High School and attended Northwestern College in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Kenneth left college to join and serve in the United States Air Force.

Kenneth was united in marriage with Helen (Thayer) Whitcher on September 7, 1998. Kenneth took great pride in his homestead and was an outstanding farmer. He was involved in the Scottish Rite Masons in Cedar Rapids for sixty-three years, Elkahir Shrine in Cedar Rapids, Northeast Iowa Shrine Club, Greeters Unit, Served as Worship Masters of the Masons, Royal Order of Jesters and West Union American Legion. Kenneth was proud to be recognized as 32nd Degree in the Masons.

Surviving Kenneth is his wife, Helen Miller of Fayette, Iowa; step children, Kathy Whitcher of Davenport, Iowa, Rick Whitcher of Flemming Island, Florida and Lee (Cynthia) Whitcher of Waterloo, Illinois; step grandchildren, Britton (Padma) Whitcher, Tiffany Whitcher and Ali MacDonald; great-grandchild, Arjune DeFreitas; siblings, Louise Kennel, Clarence (Shirley) Miller, Donald (Pam) Miller, Lowell (Marie) Miller and Lawrence (Donna) Miller; sisters-in-law, Marian Anderson, Mae Anne Potter and Jeanette Schafer; brother-in-law, Dale Thayer; and lots of nieces and nephews.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his late wife, Minnie Lee Miller; step daughter, Sherye Jacoby; parents, Walter and Clara Miller; brother, Walter (Jane) Miller; and step-granddaughter, Kierstin Whitcher.

A Visitation will be held from 4-7 pm on Monday, September 21, 2020 at Burnham-Wood-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service in West Union, Iowa.

Funeral Service will be at 10:00 am on Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at United Methodist Church in West Union, Iowa with Rev. Rick Burns as the officiant.

Burial will follow at West Union Cemetery, West Union, Iowa with Military Rites.
