Virginia Ann Gage, 84, of Wadena, Iowa died Saturday, July 25, 2020, at Maple Crest Manor in Fayette. Virginia was born August 28, 1935, to Vincent and Ellen (Gager) Baumler in St. Lucas.
On June 25, 1953, Virginia was united in marriage with Edwin Gage. Six children were born to this union. The couple farmed north of Wadena for many years, moved into Wadena where they ran the Corner Auction for a time, and finally, purchasing the grocery store in Wadena that they owned and operated for ten years. The couple were foster parents (which they dearly loved) to a number of children. Virginia enjoyed gardening, especially her flowers, sewing, going to square dances and garage sales. Virginia also babysat and was a Cub Scout Leader. She was a member of Lima Ladies Aid and the Legion Auxiliary and Community Club of Wadena.
Virginia is survived by her husband of 67 years (she was so proud), Edwin Gage of Wadena, children, Carolyn (Alex) George of Cedar Rapids, Rick (Jean) Gage of Wadena, Kevin Gage of Wadena, Michael Gage of Fayette, and Lisa (Dave) McTaggart of Strawberry Point; twelve grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Charles (Patricia) Baumler of Wadena, Rosalyn Lucas of Cresco, Richard (Sara) Baumler of Warner Robins, Georgia and Waneta (Keith) Gage of Oelwein, numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Preceding Virginia in death were her parents, Vincent Baumler and Ellen Stevens; her son, Randy Gage; great-grandchildren, Courtney, Colin and Jaxon McConathy; and her siblings, Eleanor Molokken and Robert Baumler.
Visitation will be Sunday, August 2, 2020 from 4-7 pm at Burnham-Wood-Grau Funeral Home, West Union, Iowa.
A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held.
Inurnment will be at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lima Church, Alzheimer’s Association and The Wadena Lighted Cross.
