Arlene Ann Welper Ritter, 87, of Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin formerly of McGregor, Iowa died on Monday, March 22, 2021 at her home in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. She was born November 9, 1933 in Waukon, Iowa to Alfred and Ruth (Dresselhaus) Welper. Arlene was confirmed at Zion United Church of Christ in Waukon, Iowa and graduated from Waukon High School.
Arlene was united in marriage with William Ritter on June 1, 1974. Throughout the years, Arlene worked at The Soil Conservation Office in Waukon, IA, Fisher’s in Marshalltown and also helped at the family -owned tree farm.
Surviving Arlene are her sister, Lois Evans; nephews and nieces, Mark (Linda) Evans, Diane (Randy) Wagner, Randy (Lisa) Schrabeck, Rodney Schrabeck, Shelley Schrabeck, Kevin (Toni) Kuhse, Holly Kuhse, Todd (Vicki) Kuhse and Kelly (Debra) Kuhse; and special friend, Irene Petsche.
Arlene was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Ruth Welper; her husband, William Ritter on November 16, 2000; sisters, Janet (Roger) Kuhse and Bernice (Joseph) Schrabeck; her brother-in-law, Harris Evans; and her nephew, Joel Kuhse.
A public visitation will be held from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Friday, March 26, 2021 at Thornburg-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin.
A graveside service will be held at 2: 30 pm on Friday, March 26, 2021 at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in McGregor, Iowa.
