Janet Lynn Coleman, 63 of rural Prairie du Chien passed away unexpectedly May 12th, 2021. She was born September 2nd, 1957 to Jack and Shirley (Jones) Klotz in La Grange Illinois.
Janet married her beloved husband, Tom Coleman, on July 11th, 1987 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Hodgkins, Illinois. She was always involved in the community, even going on to be the first woman police officer.
Janet loved many things including playing the piano at Christmas, drawing and painting, and sewing Halloween costumes for her grandkids. She could always be found playing the organ at church and helping out in Sunday school. Though she had many joys in life, nothing brought her more happiness then spending time with her family.
Janet touched the lives of everyone she met. Her kind heart and gentle soul lives on in the memory of all who knew her. Her comforting words and heartfelt hugs will be missed beyond measure.
She is survived by her husband, Tom Coleman, children Dionne (Chad) Robinson, Jackie (Mike) Warkentien, Tom (Leanne) Coleman, Amanda (Rich) Betty, and Janelle Rush, her grandchildren, Justin (Nicole) Coleman, Johnna (Colten) Curtis, Jaxon (fiancé Averee) Coleman, Johnathan Coleman, Jake, Jurnee, and Jace Warkentien, Joshua Rush, Jerica (fiancé Gavin) Rush, Briana Orea, Brittney (fiancé Ronnie) Coleman, Noah Robinson, and Taylor and Emily Betty. She was also survived by 6 great grandchildren with 3 more on the way, her two brothers, Jack (Michelle) Klotz of Eagle River WI, and John (Patty) Klotz of St. Germain WI, and her sister, Jolene Poots, and several nieces and nephews.
Janet was preceded in death by her daughter, Jessica Coleman, sister, Jill Mueller, parents, Jack and Shirley Klotz and a grandson, Conner Michael.
Her family would like to thank Dr. Michael Rogge from Mayo Health Clinic for the considerate and special care he extended to Janet throughout the years.
Funeral Services will be at 12:00 pm on Friday, June 11, 2021 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, McGregor, Iowa with a visitation two hours before services at the church on Friday. Rev. Andrew Pruess will be the Officiant.
Burial will follow at Bridgeport Township Cemetery, Bridgeport, Wisconsin.
