Michael Rollin Haefer, 55, of Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin passed away on Sunday, December 19, 2021 after an extended illness. Michael was born on April 26, 1966 to Marvin and Marilyn (Benish) Haefer in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. He attended and graduated from Prairie du Chien High School in 1984 and pursued his history minor at the University of Minnesota. Michael enjoyed traveling and finally found his career path taking him to San Diego, California, where he resided for many years. Later in life, he chose to return home to his beloved Prairie du Chien, where he enjoyed his final years. He will sadly be missed by his family and friends.
Surviving Michael are his mother, Marilyn “Boots” Haefer; three siblings, Daniel (Kathy) Haefer, Gina (Bill) Crubel and Gary (Gina) Haefer; and his nieces and nephews.
Michael was preceded in death by his father, Marvin R. Haefer; grandparents, Frank and Veda Benish and Henry and Leda Haefer; his aunts and uncles, Jeanette (Benish) Hagensick, Rueben and Arlene Brandt, Edward Haefer, David Haefer and LeRoy Hinze.
As per Michael’s wishes, a private family inurnment will be held at a later date.
Thornburg-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin is assisting the family with arrangements.
