Alice Feuerhelm, Lansing, Iowa, June 19, 2017

Alice Mae Feuerhelm, 89 of Lansing, Iowa died Monday, June 19, 2017 at Thornton Manor, Lansing, Iowa. Alice Mae was born March 24, 1928 to Michael and Elizabeth (Manning) Gavin in rural Wexford, Iowa. She graduated from Immaculate Conception High School.

Alice was united in marriage with Burton Feuerhelm on February 15, 1947 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Wexford, Iowa. Together with her husband, Alice worked hard on the family farm while raising their children. She enjoyed gardening, baking, sewing, canning and tending to the needs of her family. Alice was a devoted member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She loved playing cards, attending family functions and spending time with her family.

Alice is survived by her children, Jerry (Amy) Feuerhelm of Ankeny, Iowa, Thomas (Diane) Feuerhelm of New Albin, Iowa, Roger Feuerhelm of Lansing, Iowa and Mary Gray of Lansing, Iowa; daughter-in-law, Shirley Harwood of Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin; twelve grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Burton Feuerhelm on August 1, 1994; parents, Michael and Elizabeth Gavin; one son, Ron Feuerhelm; and her siblings, Sister Sheila, Clarence, Regina, Paul, Dan, Marguerite, Leona, Elizabeth and Clair.

Visitation will be 4-8 pm on Thursday, June 22, 2017 with a 4:00 Scripture Service at Thornburg-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Lansing, Iowa. There will also be a one hour visitation before Mass at the church on Friday.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am on Friday, June 23, 2017 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Lansing, Iowa.

Burial will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery, Lansing, Iowa.
